As human beings we have all sinned and find ourselves alienated from God (Rom 3:23). If this situation is not remedied we will remain alienated from God. If we die without ever coming into right relationship with God, we will be separated from Him forever (Rom 6:23; Rev 20:15). Now if this were the whole story, it would seem that we are totally without hope. But Jesus stepped in. He willingly gave His life on the cross to pay for our sins. He died for us and rose from death to offer us salvation (Rom 5:8; 1 Cor 15:3-4). And now, God is offering salvation to all people, the forgiveness of sins. This salvation is received when we accept Christ by placing our faith in Him (Jn 3:16; Eph 2:8-9). The invitation to accept Christ is always open, and we offer the opportunity at our worship services.
Are you ready to accept Christ now? Here’s a short prayer you can say to Jesus to tell him you are putting your faith in Him.
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I have failed to obey your commands, and I have not met your standards. Right now I turn away from my sins and invite you to come into my life. I believe you died for me and rose from the grave. Please lead me as my Lord and Savior. I trust in you alone as the one who makes me right with God the Father. Thank you for loving me and forgiving me. I pray in your name, Jesus, amen.
